Education: Last year I started school at the University of Alberta taking a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education majoring in English and minoring in Music.
Extracurricular Endeavors: I started curling in 2012 in the big rocks league in Red Deer and fell in love with the sport. I then began curling competitively on the Hunting Hills High school team in 2014 where we competed in the high school zones winning bronze. The following season I joined a team for Lindsay Thurber high school where we competed for 2 years winning bronze both years. During that time, I skipped my own team and the following year played third for another competitive team. With both teams we competed in many bonspiels as well as played in a ladies league every week.
I have always been passionate about fitness and encouraging others to reach their full potential in competitive sports which I pursue through coaching. Alongside taking classes and curling I volunteered coaching soccer for 2 months in the winter with a non-profit organization called Free Footie. This summer I have returned as a swim coach for the Red Deer Marlins swim team coaching kids ranging from ages eight to seventeen. Throughout the summer I like to keep busy spending time with family and friends as well as pursuing other passions such as hiking, swimming, and biking.
